Introducing Makeup by One Direction

Get excited, One Direction fans! Coming soon to a store near you is a fun, colorful makeup line by the boys of 1D.

The collection consists of three limited edition tins inspired by One Direction's albums, including "Up All Night," "Take Me Home," and "Midnight Memories." Each kit has a unique color palette and high quality products!

Now, on to the fun part... the kit itself!

The outside of the tin features photos of the band members and their signatures. It's the perfect gift for a 1D lover.

Each kit contains a card explaining the contents and the other kits that are available.

The tin itself is a gray brick pattern. It's chic and perfect for storage.

On to the contents! Each kit comes with a lip gloss, lipstick, eyeshadow palette, eyeshadow stick, mascara, nail polish, and stencils.

First up is the eye and body crayon in "Stand Up." This is a jumbo eyeshadow stick in a dark denim color that goes on smooth and lasts all day. The shade is quite beautiful, and I am impressed with the staying power and texture.

As shown below, this crayon goes on with full opacity in one swipe. It is the perfect base for the eyeshadow palette that comes in this kit.

The 4+1 eyeshadow palette in the "Up All Night" kit features a blue color palette. 

From top to bottom, these shades are "Up All Night," "Another World," "Gotta Be You," "Save You Tonight," and "More Than This." "Up All Night" is a glitter cream shadow that would show up better over primer. All of these swatches are done over bare skin.

My favorite shade in the palette is "Save You Tonight." With a gorgeous shimmer and smooth texture, it hits the ball out of the park.

The Little Black Dress mascara in "Perfect Black" is a lengthening, volumizing, and separating formula with no clumps. I am very impressed with the formula, and it holds up again my best mascaras. The brush is made with traditional bristles and catches every last lash.

The "I Should Have Kissed You" lipstick is a shockingly bright, bubblegum pink creme. It goes on opaque in one coat, and this color stains your lips so you are covered if you can't reapply. The texture feels smooth and comfortable on the lips, not drying.

The Liquid Lights Glow Gloss in "Taken" is very unique because it changes color under UV light! In normal light, it is a cool-toned hot pink with iridescent shimmer and purple glitter. However, under UV light, it glows orange! I have never tried a gloss that changes color depending on the lighting, so I am excited to keep experimenting with this bold color.

The swatches of these lip products show their true color. They are both very bright, and what you see in the packaging is what you get on your lips. They feel high quality, and they fit with the bold, party theme of the "Up All Night" kit.

The Nail Varnish in "Na Na Na" is such a gorgeous blue chrome with green shimmer! It reminds me of the ocean, and it is a perfect end-of-summer color. It went on opaque in three coats, but looked pretty and subtle with just one. I didn't even need a top coat because it dries shiny and fast.

The stencils that come in this kit are drawings by the members of One Direction themselves! These decals can be filled in with the eyeshadow palette, eye and body crayon, or even the lipstick. These would be perfect for a party or a concert to show your spirit.

Finally, I have a look that I created with the eye and body crayon and eyeshadow palette. I was inspired to do a subtle yet colorful look.

As you can see in the above photos, I used "Save You Tonight" on my lid over the "Stand Up" crayon. I used "Gotta Be You" in the crease and "More Than This" as a brow highlight. I was very pleased with the way my look turned out!

The "Up All Night" kit by Makeup by One Direction is a winner in my book. I think this would be a great gift for the 1D lover in your life. With the holiday season quickly approaching, I suggest that you check out the release dates for this collection and grab it before it's gone!
